Holiday Decorations and Your Roof

December 30th, 2014

By Morgan Bennett, Marketing Director

As the holidays come to an end, everyone will begin taking down their decorations. For some this could be an annoying task where you would just want to get it done and over with, without taking the time to take it down properly. If you do not take the time to properly take down your outdoor decorations, you could cause damage to your shingles and your gutters.

The worst thing you could do is tear the lights down by the cord, even if it seems to be easier! This could result in substantial damage to your shingles and the outer edges of your roof. The best way to remove your lights is by removing each clip, one by one. This may take time but it will save your wallet in the long run!
