Prevention is Key!

You may not be able to prevent snow from collecting on your roof, but there are other things you can do to prevent ice dams from causing major damage to your home! A couple of these include:

  • Warming the upper part of the roof deck and causing the snow to melt evenly by sealing air leaks in the attic floor
  • Have an experienced roofing contractor install a protective "ice and water" shield along your roof eaves

Whichever option you choose, it is always good to contact a roofing contractor first to get the best estimate and to find which service best fits your home!
